This lathe is technologically very advanced and does not only turn the piece, but also mills it. In fact, it is equipped with radial and axial motorised tools, y-axis, main spindle with C-axis and tailstock with C-axis.
Using this machine we can perform the first turning and milling phase on the main spindle, then the item is transferred in the cycle to the tailstock (second spindle) in order to be turned and milled on the other side. The y-axis also enables us to mill above or below the centre of the piece as well. Basically, we have a lathe that can perform the tasks of a full machining centre.
The benefits are clear both for the customer and for us. Whereas before we had to turn the piece and then mill it in a subsequent phase, having to wait for the machining centre to become available, now we produce the part in a single solution with greater accuracy, speed and flexibility, managing to satisfy our customers’ requirements better.
This machine has also been provided with some very important and useful accessories such as the SBS tool stress control which allows us to work unsupervised (operator-free) and the LNS IDROBAR SPRINT S2 bar loader which enables us to work with bars of diameters up to 70mm (bar gap of the lathe).
